Pujya Shyama Didi was born on August 21, 1969, in Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh. In 1990, she completed her diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, but instead of pursuing a career, she decided to dedicate her life to selfless service.

In 1984, when she was just 14 years old, she came in contact with the revered Yogi Ji Maharaj. At that time, including her the entire family was suffering from multiple physical and mental health challenges as well as deep financial crisis .Inspired by Yogi Ji Maharaj’s teachings and the practice of Tap Seva Sumiran, based on Sri Ramcharitmana, her entire family were able to overcome their all the sufferings within a year.

From 1990 onwards, she became a full-time devotee at Yogi Ji Maharaj’s Ashram, dedicating herself to service. In 1994, she married Dr. Gopal Shastri, who was also deeply devoted to the practice. At present their only daughter is also practicing the sadhana and living a well settled life with a good job and life partner.
Yogi Ji Maharaj bestowed upon her the name “Shyama,” (Original name Rachana Gupta) and since then, she has been known as Shyama Didi.

After Yogi Ji Maharaj’s passing in 2001, Shyama Didi continued her spiritual practice under the guidance of Pujya Shri Akhilesh Ji Maharaj. Following Akhilesh Ji Maharaj’s sudden demise in 2006, she played a crucial role in managing the Ashram under the spiritual leadership of Pujya Malti Maa. She traveled extensively across the country to spread the principles of Tap Seva Sumiran along with her husband Dr. Gopal Shastri.

After Malti Maa’s passing in 2023, Shyama Didi was elevated to the position of the Supreme Spiritual Head of the organization. Under her guidance, millions of people have benefited from the scientific and spiritual interpretations of Sri Ramcharitmanas. Her humility, selflessness, simplicity, and unconditional love serve as an inspiration to all devotees.Her ultimate vision is to empower the seeds of Shriramcharitmanas in the souls of her devotees till her last breath.
